What we do here
Sterling Ridge is one of the leading joint replacement practices in the Houston area. Three fellowship-trained surgeons perform total and partial knee replacement, anterior and posterior hip replacement, robotic-assisted knee replacement, shoulder replacement and revision surgery, and a fellowship-trained foot and ankle surgeon performs total ankle replacement. Consults happen at any of our three offices in The Woodlands, Spring and Woodforest (Montgomery), no referral needed, and physical therapy and aquatic therapy run with our own team on the same campuses.

Where surgery happens
Most primary hip and knee replacements are done as same-day surgery at the Sterling Ridge / Woodforest Ambulatory Surgical Center, 750 Fish Creek Thoroughfare in Montgomery, built with Memorial Hermann and sharing a campus with our clinic, physical therapy and therapy pool. The AAHKS, Hip Society, Knee Society and AAOS position statement calls outpatient joint replacement safe and effective for properly selected patients. Our surgeons also hold privileges at several area hospitals, so when your plan or your health calls for a hospital stay, that is where surgery is scheduled. The screening is on Is outpatient joint replacement safe?

Questions patients ask before they call
Common questions
Which joints do you replace?
Knee (total, partial and robotic-assisted), hip (anterior and posterior approach), shoulder (total and reverse) and ankle. Revision surgery for a hip or knee replacement that has failed or never felt right is handled by Dr. Rohan Gheewala.
Who are the joint replacement surgeons?
Dr. Paul C. Chin (robotic knee, partial knee, shoulder replacement), Dr. N. Brian Flowers (anterior hip, robotic knee) and Dr. Rohan Gheewala (hip, knee, revision). Dr. Jacob Jones performs total ankle replacement. All are fellowship-trained and board-certified.
Is surgery done in a hospital or your own center?
Most primary hip and knee replacements are done as same-day surgery at the Sterling Ridge / Woodforest Ambulatory Surgical Center on our Woodforest campus in Montgomery. Our surgeons also hold privileges at several area hospitals, so when your insurance or your medical history calls for a hospital, surgery is scheduled there instead.
Where do I go for a consult?
Any office, no referral needed: The Woodlands (281) 364-1122, Spring (832) 698-0111 or Woodforest (936) 272-0790. Offices are open Monday–Friday 8:00 AM–5:00 PM and Saturday 8:00 AM–noon.
How long does recovery take?
How do I know if I'm ready for a replacement?
When pain limits daily life despite therapy, injections and activity changes, and X-rays show the joint is worn. Our five-minute self-assessment is a fair starting point; the consult settles it.
